Can I create a tutor account while having a student account?
No, at the moment you are unable to have a multi-user account. If you would like to sign up as a student and tutor, you will have to register for each separately.
Can I offer group sessions?

Tutor can offer courses that are essentially group sessions where you can decide how many students you will be willing to have in each lesson with 10 being the maximum. The current structure of our 1-on-1 Tutoring sessions focuses solely on providing students with individualised help. Tutors are not allowed to conduct group tutoring sessions at present.

Can I refer friends to become tutors as well?

How can I familiarise myself with the platform?

How can students get in touch with me?

Students can get in touch with tutors and instructors through the in-house messaging service. To access the aforementioned service, please log in to your account and click on your name. You will be redirected to your account dashboard where you will see the My Inbox tab on the left column. Once you click on the My Inbox link, you will be redirected to the messaging service where you can correspond with students.

How do I cancel a scheduled lesson?

You will have to login to your tutor account and click on the My Sessions tab on the left column. Under the My Sessions page you will see the option to edit or delete under the Status/Action header. You can either edit the session to change your availability or delete the session to cancel the lesson altogether.

How do I set my availability?

You can set your availability when you are creating new 1-on-1 or course sessions, there will be an option for you to select your available dates and the respective time. The dates and times will be reflected on your public tutor profile.

How much are tutors paid?

Tutors can set their preferred hourly rates for 1-on-1 tutoring sessions and rates for courses. Information regarding our pay structure will be provided to you once your tutor application is approved by the HighQ team.

How will tutors receive payment?

If tutor has a paypal account, their monthly salary will be paid through their account. If not, monthly salaries will be transferred to the bank accounts that they have listed in the application process.

Is there a penalty if I miss a tutoring session?

If you cancel the session at least 24 hours in advance, you will not incur a penalty. However, if you cancel the session less than 24 hours in advance or miss a lesson without a valid reason, you will incur a penalty. Details on penalties can be found in the tutor contract and the highQ team is available to answer relevant queries through email.

What if the student misses a tutoring session?

If a student misses a tutoring session with a valid reason such as sickness or injury, the tutor will be required to schedule a make-up lesson. However, if the student misses their session, the tutor does not need to schedule a make-up lesson and is still paid despite the student being a no show.

What is the application process like to become a tutor/coach?

Firstly, you will have to complete an online registration form that will require you to submit basic contact information and education qualifications. Subsequently you will receive an activation link sent to your email (please check spam/junk if you do not see it in your inbox). Once your account is activated, you will need to fill additional details and documents to support your application. Soon after, a member of the HighQ team will contact you and schedule an online interview with you, where we will get to know you better. Then, the HighQ team will get back to you within 7 working days to inform you if your application has been successful or not. If successful, you will be able to start your journey with HighQ to build effective and independent learners. If your application is unsuccessful you are welcome to apply again!
